Hungover, again. Not the first time, definitely not the last. While we might not be able to get back those drunk texts or those photos from what can only be described as a messy night, we may be able to help with the day after hangover.
While we always opt in for the big greasy breakfast with a huge cup of coffee, does it actually help? Natural high fat foods are what is going to get you through your day. Avocados, eggs, cheeses, coconuts and nuts.
Sleep! It could possibly be the most boring cure, but it definitely works! After breakfast, try and get a few more hours sleep in and you’ll wake up feeling refreshed.
You should try to stay hydrated and drink lots and lots of water, but if your electrolyte supplies are low, you will remain dehydrated and your head will still ache. Most sports drinks contain high levels of electrolytes but they can also be found in foods, such as pickled foods, cheeses, bananas, avocado, sweet potato, seeds and nuts.
So now your head isn't pounding and your a little more hydrated, but you just can't kick your stomach-based symptoms. Ginger could be the perfect hangover cure for you. Ginger is one of the best natural remedies for an upset stomach. Brew up a ginger tea, add a teaspoon of honey, and sip away.
This one might seem like the last thing you want to do when you feel like your insides are trying to escape your body. Some fresh air and light exercise will release endorphins and give you that mental kick you need to get you back to yourself. Accompanied by lots and lots of water, to stay hydrated!
So drink and be merry, celebrate the new year with your friends and family, then try out these tips and you might even get to enjoy the next day!
But if none of it works... order some beautiful flowers and a decadent gift basket from bloomex.ca and have them delivered right to your door. Flowers and chocolates will be sure to perk up your spirits!
