Flipping for Flowers

Bloomex was proud to be a national sponsor of the 2017 Artistic World Gymnastics Championships this month as part of our partnership with many Canadian and international sports agencies and athletes.

It was so exciting to be a part of a world athletic event of this calibre! 500 athletes from 80 different countries gathered in Montreal to compete for gold and stand out in preparation for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. It’s unbelievable what some of these athletes can do!

With every medal ceremony, there needs to be flowers to present to the winners. And that’s where Bloomex came in. We stayed true to the colours of FIG themselves and created beautiful bouquets with blue Fuji Mums, white Alstroemeria and yellow Roses.

Doesn’t Canada’s Ellie Black look amazing holding her silver medal and Bloomex flowers? And the men look so handsome!

We also provided flower arrangements and tropical plants, worthy of a gold medal, which decorated the gymnasium, locker rooms and VIP lounge.

Our Montreal team tirelessly flipped, twirled and pole-vaulted to create the arrangements which consisted of white Fuji Mums, blue and yellow Roses, blue Alstroemeria and assorted greenery. Such a beautiful combination!

We had so much fun with this event and we are so proud of our athletes! If you love these arrangements and have a special event coming up, please contact our corporate events division and we would be pleased to make your own custom floral creations.

Bloomex joins the fight against breast cancer with CIBC Run for the Cure

It’s a disease that has touched millions of people’s lives. Everyone knows someone that has been diagnosed with breast cancer and it’s time for that reality to come to an end. Together with the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), Bloomex is determined to change the future of breast cancer and put an end to this life-altering disease.

In 1992, a small group of volunteers gathered 1,500 people in Toronto’s High Park to run as a way to promote awareness of and raise funds for breast cancer. This run is now known as the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. The event is Canada’s largest single day, volunteer-led event with around 85,000 participants raising $17 million annually.

Bloomex jumped at the opportunity to help fight, becoming a sponsor of the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) and CIBC Run for the Cure again for 2017-2018. Bloomex also worked to coordinate deliveries of beautiful pink carnations to run sites across Canada, to help honour breast cancer survivors during special ceremonies on Run day. We were also on site in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver handing out fresh flowers and teddy bears to participants and spectators for any donation to CCS.

The crowds came in droves, dressed up in pink from head to toe, ready to run. Emotions were high but the positivity was palpable. It felt like they all knew each other, and in a way they did - they knew what it was like to be touched by cancer, knew what it was like to fight. Everyone came together as one big family to help support the people in their lives who have experienced a breast cancer diagnosis.

Whether they were running, walking, participating for a loved one or honouring someone who lost their fight, we cheered them on every step of the way. With 56 Run sites across Canada, CCS raised $17 million for breast cancer research and support programs - amazing! Bloomex was so honoured to be a part of such a great event!

Bloomex sponsors the Autumn Classic International as Canada skates to gold

International skating royalty gathered in Montreal, September 20-23, 2017 to take part in one of the most exciting competitions of the year, the Autumn Classic International. Athletes competed in a variety of events including singles, pairs and ice dancing, all of which Canada dominated.

Bloomex was delighted to provide all medalist bouquets and floral arrangements throughout the event. The flowers were presented to the medalists in gorgeous mixed fall colours to celebrate the season and popped beautifully against all the chiffon and glitter. We also love the way our flowers look beside all those shiny medals!

Three time world champions Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue dazzled the judges during their ice dance routine winning gold, while teammates  Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje as well as  Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier secured silver and bronze for Canada as well.
