Bloomex joins Canada on the podium at Skate Canada International

The Skate Canada International was held in Regina, Saskatchewan this past weekend and Canada’s stars shone bright as they skated their way to gold. As the official florist of Skate Canada, Bloomex provided all the flowers for the event including podium bouquets, centrepieces, gift baskets and medalist bouquets.

It was a hugely successful weekend for our athletes as Canada won triple gold! Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir won for ice dancing, Kaetlyn Osmond took the women’s title and Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford won pairs. Somehow, between all the screaming fans and flashing lights, they still had time to stop and smell the flowers!

The medalist bouquets were made of stunning red Roses and snow white Fuji Mums, reflecting Skate Canada’s official colours and providing added tribute to our country.

Not only did Virtue and Moir win gold for their spectacular ice skating routine, they broke the world record (set by themselves in a previous competition) with a score of 199.86 - amazing!

Bloomex was also happy to provide extra large teddy bears for a fun Pass the Bear contest during the event. Some of the local school children who attended also received Bloomex teddy bears as part of their visit. Bloomex provided gift baskets for hard working volunteers and VIP guests, as well as flowers to brighten locker rooms, the arena, and other key areas of this International event. As always, it was a pleasure to be part of the exciting Skate Canada hosting! Our team had so much fun creating all the bouquets and arrangements.

Warm congratulations to all our amazing Canadian athletes.

Go Canada Go!
