Bloomex supports Koffler Arts Center

Bloomex is proud to be the Offical Florist to the The Koffler Centre of the Arts. Their Books & Ideas Series continues with award-winning journalist and author Amitava Kumar, in conversation with award-winning visual artist and novelist, Shani Mootoo.

Award-winning writer and journalist Amitava Kumar is the author of several books of non-fiction, poetry, and his most recent novel, Immigrant, Montana — one of President Obama’s favourite books of 2018. Shani Mootoo was born in Ireland, grew up in Trinidad and has lived in Canada most of her life. She writes fiction and poetry, and is a visual artist whose paintings and short videos have been exhibited locally and internationally.

Bloomex was able to give beautiful centerpieces for their tables. These were our beautiful tulips wrapped in a fishbowl vase. Simple and Elegant.

Bloomex also gave two beautiful standing arrangements for a pop of colour on the stage. Bloomex is always delighted to be a part of Koffler events.

Bloomex and the Wizard of Oz

The amazing Royal Winnipeg Ballet season continues with the Canadian premiere of the Wizard of Oz*. Frank Baum’s tale of family, friendship, and courage is vividly brought to life by choreographer Septime Webre at the Centennial Concert Hall in Winnipeg from May 1- 5, 2019. 

We can't wait to see beloved characters including Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion as they journey down the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City in this beautiful ballet!

If you are an avid ballet fan, you can also join Tara Birtwhistle, RWB’s Associate Artistic Director, as she hosts an educational, insightful behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Wizard of Oz ballet before the curtain rises on this Canadian Premiere. Meet some of the creative minds behind the choreography, costumes and sets during The Making of a Ballet with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet on April 25.

As official florist of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Bloomex is pleased to help support this premiere by providing flowers for the launch reception. These “Oz-themed” flowers include red anemones, pussy willow, green button mums and bright blue delphiniums.
