Bloomex Sponsors the Canadian Tulip Festival

May in Ottawa brings added beauty and a touch of proud history, as over a million tulips come into bloom all around our nation's capital.

Many of the original tulips were a gift from a very grateful Netherlands, after Canada's pivotal role in the liberation of that nation during World War II and for the shelter that Canada provided to the Dutch royal family.

The tulips return year after year to enhance the city and to delight the thousands of tourists who flock to their celebration during the Canadian Tulip Festival.

Bloomex was proud to open the summer as a returning sponsor of this year's 65th Festival, providing some key floral elements and gift cards in support of the events and their publicity. The event was also a key part of the Canada 150 Ottawa 2017 events being held in our nation's capital.

On behalf of the Festival, Bloomex provided beautiful potted tulips to various media personnel, across Ottawa, as well as tulips to enhance the booth displays at the Ottawa Home and Garden Show, and the Signatures Spring Craft Show.

Visiting tour operators also received mini tulip bouquets from Bloomex, to warmly welcome them to their Ottawa hotel rooms.

Bloomex was also extremely proud to be asked to provide fresh tulip bouquets and special "tulip-themed" gift baskets, to each of Canada's premiers Being Canada's national florist, Bloomex was happy to get on board with this initiative on behalf of Ottawa's Mayor Jim Watson, as well as the Canadian Tulip Festival, to help promote a "One Tulip, One Canada" theme in honour of the Canada 150 celebrations.

Bloomex also provided tulip centrepieces for the "Vernissage" opening gala of the Festival at the Aberdeen Pavilion, as well as several thousand gift cards which could be enjoyed by the many Festival visitors.

This year's Festival was another big success as more than a million visitors attended, a number which surpassed all expectations. We are all looking forward to next year's event!
