Bloomex Provides Arrangements for MADD Canada

Bloomex was so happy to be a part of this years 2019 National Leadership Conference with MADD Canada this past weekend. 

We were glad to see so many amazing volunteers from all across Canada. These incredible people dedicate themselves to preventing impaired driving and supporting victims/survivors. People, Passion, Purpose!

Bloomex was delighted to be able to provide large and small arrangements for the conference. We were delighted to be able to provide bouquets to present to the speakers. 

   

These beautiful Bloomex arrangements and bouquets were created using beautiful fall colours with accents of gourds and mini pumpkins. Sunflowers, Roses and Gerberas are just some of the fresh cut flowers that were used in these pieces.

Bloomex Supports Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure

Bloomex is proud to be a returning sponsor of the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2019. The Run will be held this year at 57 sites across Canada. Bloomex is delighted to donate over 7600 pink carnations to all breast cancer survivors and to those currently living with breast cancer. The flowers will be handed out during special ceremonies at each participating site on Run Day.

The CIBC Run for the Cure unites a collective of Canadians who are a force-for-life in the face of breast cancer. Since the Run began more than 20 years ago with a small group of volunteers in Toronto's High Park, it has raised almost $445 million for breast cancer research and support. Today, it's the largest single day, volunteer-led event in support of the breast cancer cause. 

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Canadian women and the Run provides people with breast cancer, their families and friends the chance to honour loved ones while making a promise to help make breast cancer beatable.

October is Breast Cancer Action month in Canada and to help support the vision of a future without breast cancer, Bloomex has created a Pink Ribbon Collection. The collection consists of four beautiful bouquets of varied pink flowers; Pink Tenderness, Pink Ribbon, Pink Dreams and Pink Hope.

Bloomex at Skate Canada Autumn Classic Internationals 2019

Bloomex is once again proud to be the Official Florist of Skate Canada. We were so excited to see top Canadian and International skaters in Oakville for the 2019 Autumn Classic International. The 2019 Autumn Classic International featured senior events in men, women and ice dance. Team Canada had two entries in women and two entries in men and ice dance.

We would also love to shout out to Keegan Messing for his wonderful Sportsmanship. The figure skater made the ultimate Canadian gesture Saturday when he held up the Japanese flag for his fellow competitor, Yuzuru Hanyu, during the medal ceremony.

Bloomex Supporting Koffler Centre of the Arts

Bloomex is so proud to have been able to donate 6 beautifully simply floral arrangements for Koffler's Books & Ideas Series with author Jenny Heijun Wills.

Jenny Heijun Wills was born in Korea and adopted as an infant into a white family in small-town Canada. In her late twenties, she reconnected with her first family and returned to Seoul. In her breathtaking new memoir, Older Sister. 

Not Necessarily Related, Wills traces her heartrending journey of reunion with her Korean mother, father, siblings, and extended family. Delving into gender, class, racial and ethnic complexities, the book describes in visceral lyrical prose the painful ripple effects that follow a child’s removal from a family and the rewards that flow from both struggle and forgiveness. Jenny will be in conversation with author Carrianne Leung.

Jenny Heijun Wills has lived, studied, and worked in Toronto, Montreal, Boston, and Seoul and holds a PhD in English Literary Studies. She currently teaches at the University of Winnipeg.
