Canada Hosts the World at Skate Canada Internationals

We had a great time at Skate Canada Internationals on October 26-28 at Place Bell, Laval!

This annual event sees Canada host skaters from all over the world at a weekend of amazing competition.

As official florist of Skate Canada, Bloomex was delighted to provide all the medalist bouquets for the winners as well as centrepieces for the official dinner in a beautiful mix of autumn colours to reflect Canada's vibrant fall season.

In the VIP lounge, this year's theme was rustic chic. Bloomex created custom mason jar arrangements with beautiful white and green wildflowers which decorated barn board pallets.

During intermissions the audience enjoyed participating in the Pass the Bouquet. The crowd tosses a bouquet while music plays; when the music stops, the person holding the bouquet wins the prize. School children visiting the competition also got to enjoy the Bloomex Teddy Bear Toss which featured our very own Bloomington Bear!

The first Skate Canada International was held in 1973 in Calgary and was added to the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating in 1995, the year the series began. The 45th installment of Skate Canada International was Laval’s first time hosting a major skating event which attracted elite skaters from across the globe.

We want to extend a warm congratulations to all of the Canadian athletes including Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier who took home the bronze medal in ice dancing.

Good Luck to everyone at the Grand Prix Figure Skating Final in December!
