Bloomex was delighted to once again help sponsor professional tennis though Tennis Canada, this time at the Fed Cup in Montreal.The Fed Cup is a World Tennis event held annually between competing countries, featuring some of the best women players in the world.
The weekend of April 22 saw team Canada meet team Kazakhstan at the beautiful Uniprix Stadium in Montreal. Team Canada was represented by Françoise Abanda (Montreal, QC), Bianca Andreescu (Mississauga, ON),
Gabriela Dabrowski (Ottawa, ON), and Katherine Sebov (Toronto, ON).

Bloomex was a sponsor of the event, providing all the flowers for the Official Dinner, the ladies' locker rooms at the stadium, and the beautiful flowers that bordered the President's Box alongside the court.
The official dinner took place at the beautiful Marriott Chateau Champlain in downtown Montreal, with Bloomex centrepieces on every table.
At the event, Canada got off to a strong start, with Francoise Abanda coming out victorious over Yulia
Putintseva, before Bianca Andreescu beat out Yaroslava Shvedova 7-6(1), 6-4.

Kazakhstan's
Galina Voskoboeva and Kamila Kerimbayeva beat Gabriela Dabrowski and
Katherine Sebov 6-7(6), 7-6(6), 10-5 in a doubles match to end the day.

At the end of some excellent tennis, Canada emerged on top, winning 3-2 and securing a spot in the 2018 Fed Cup World Group II for the first time since 2016. This is an impressive result for the fledgling Canadian team, as its members average age is only in the teens. Bloomex wishes to congratulate all players and both teams on an impressive weekend of tennis!
